INTRODUCTION
Designed specifically to wash the 1B & 2B GEnx Engines in the Boeing 747-800 and 787 Dreamliner fitted with the onboard spray ring wash system. However, an additional adaptor is supplied to enable Juniper’s engine wash probes to be used.
OPERATION
This rig is designed for use on and around Airport Aprons and Hangers at temperatures above 5°C and consists of a 250-gallon reservoir complete with converter, control gear, pump, valves, pipework and delivery hose mounted onto a steel road trailer. The delivery hose has a connector at the end suitable for connecting to the wash ring on the GEnx aircraft engine.
The Stainless tank is fitted with baffles, a filtered filling port, level probe, sight glass, access hatch, vent, and drain valve. The wash cart requires a 3 phase 200V AC 400Hz supply (115V A.C. per phase) from a standard Aircraft Ground Power connector (BS 4G 173-2:1985 – Requirements for Aircraft Ground Power Connectors). The electrical installation is rated for ingress protection to IP65 as a minimum, in accordance with BS EN 1915-1:2001 – Aircraft Ground Support Equipment General Requirements. The equipment is therefore suitable for use in exposed outdoor environments.
