In June 2012, as part of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Air Canada took part in a series of historic flights to highlight the need to find a viable bio-fuel alternative to conventional jet fuel.
For flight AC991 from Toronto to Mexico City, an Air Canada Airbus A319 was painstakingly prepared, with Juniper equipment used for the on-wing engine wash prior to take off.
